I had a great 10 day holiday out west. Visited with the other halfs family, and went hiking and camping in the Rocky Mountains, they remain as breathtaking as I ever remember. I was lucky enough to see 3 Grizzly bears, something I have not seen on any of my other time spent in the mountains. Driving through Peter Loughheed National Park we spotted a huge male on the side of a grassy mountain, in close proximity to the highway. The bear was feeding on a carcass, and showed us his great power in crushing and digging. We must have watched him for 20 minutes and we yelled at him a few times, he just turned his head and looked at us. After awhile more people came along and stopped to look and get pictures so we took off. Just up the road we spotted 2 more, a mom and a cub. They were higher on the mountain and not as easily seen but it was pretty cool!
Now it`s back to playing some banjo!! 3 shows this weekend, and I finaly get to try out my new in-ear monitor system, can`t wait. Fri. 16th @ The Corner Stone in Kenora ONT, Sat. 17th at a wedding in Grosse Isle MB, and again on Sun. in Grosse Isle for the Great Train Robbery, Prairie Dog Central Railroad steam train.
