I just was told by Jim that he has given his notice with Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder. He`s not sure who will be taking up the banjo position. Jim Plans on focasing on his banjo business and other projects, and the parting with the band was amicable. Dang! just when I was gonna be travelling to Saskatoon to meet up and catch the show. Good luck with your future endevours Jim. By the way he said it was ok for me to mention this.

I just saw Jim Mills with Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder three days ago at Ralph Stanley's Hills of Home festival in Coeburn, VA. It was my first time seeing him and I can easily see why he was named IBMA's Banjo Picker of the Year so many times. It will be interesting to see who replaces him, and I'm sure he will be a success at whatever other projects he undertakes. Very professional all the way!
