My new mandolin I traded for just arrived, I just un-packed it and the head stock is broken where it meets the neck!! It looks like it was packed very well. Not a happy camper, I can`t believe it. I know it can be fixed but... not what I bargained for.

If the headstock was not wrapped and immobilized inside the case, it was not well-packed. UPS will blame the customer and vice-versa. It should have been immobilized by the person shipping--and UPS should have checked to see it was. Both are at fault if that was the case.
