I just started a couple of months ago. Have about four books and associated DVD/CD's. Am concentrating on Scruggs style. Should I also try clawhammer as well or stick to just what I have been doing?

Ron's right. Work on what you want to play in the long run. If you want to learn both, do that.

I absolutely agree with Ron and Bill, but as someone who learned two instruments at once my advice is: learn one, then the other.

I started with 3-finger picking because a class was offered, but someone in the class showed me clawhammer, and I was transported to another world which became my focus. Now I've come back to 3-finger picking, and glad I know both. I'd say, stay with the one you like best first. It will be more fun to learn.
