I don't know about you guys, but I've been playing for about 6 months now (self-taught), and I can't get enough! Check out my YouTube videos...Do any of you more experienced players still sneak downstairs to get a few more minutes of playing in?

I've been playing for about eight years, and I STILL feel the same as you about it! Always something fun and new to learn.
One evening, I was on my way to bed, and I thought, I'll just pick a LITTLE before turning in. 45 minutes later, I had to set it down.

Yea I have that same experiance with desire as you have found. I would offer that focus should be placed first on enjoyment. If you are like me, there will be other experiances coming in your future. IE: Getting better makes us desire quicker progress and offers frustration at times.
I am sure you will do your best to get through all of these things as you are exposed to them in the future. But remember, enjoyment is first.

Thanks guys. Yea, I think that, maybe, every other day I'll pick around on a new "fun" tune...then work on technique, music theory, etc., on the odd days; that way I can balance my progress with simple pleasure...Is it bad that, as we're coming home from vacation...I just want to get everything out of the way so I can sit down to play...or, when we're out..I'm scoping music stores that might have banjos...so I can tinker with different models?! Do we need to start a Banjos-Anonymous (BA) group?...LOL
