Starting with our next banjo drawing, the winner will also receive (in addition to a beautiful new banjo) a "banjo prize" pack full of smaller "accessories" donated by BHO sponsors. So far that prize pack is made up of:
...with a few more potential items to be added soon. That'll be a sweet bunch of doo-dads to win along with a new banjo!
Some of the items will be tailored to the particular banjo type we're giving away--so openback banjos will come with books related to clawhammer, etc.
Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know. I'm pretty excited about it. If you're a banjo-related businesses that wants to donate something as part of the pack (which gets you some good exposure for a very low cost) let me know!

Yeah, it's pretty impressive, huh? If we ever run out of banjos I suppose we can just give this away. :-)

Here's an idea... How about giving that extra stuff to runners up? In other words, rather than have a single winner per month, why not have 10 or 12? It might generate a bit more excitement. After all, 99.9% of the people who enter are losers, so why should they be happy because the single winner gets even more stuff?

i am not ready to join the union yet i will in the future but the above person is correct the union members get entered every day which gives them a little better chance some of the other items might get filtered to the none union folks its hard to enter every day just a thought ron

i like the idea of a runner up prize as well.

Prize pack is a great idea. A runner up is also an idea. But I "joined the union" to help support the site. Non-memebrs may log in every day if they choose too, so I don't believe it needs to be made more fair for those that aren't in the 'union'.

Ok Eric, I accept. put me down as a winner.
You have my mailing address.
Great Idea Let the entries begin and the winning commence! (I )===='---<::)

Ah, just drop it in the mail. No need to stand on formalities. You know, enter, wait to win, yadda, yadda. After all, we're all family here, right?
As always, nice job, Eric.

I think it's great too. As far as spreading the wealth?....it's always easy to be for that when it's someone else's wealth that's being spread. If you think you're a loser because you didn't win, don't enter and you can't lose....although I'm not sure what we lose since the drawing is free.

The prize pack sounds like a great idea, it will really help those who may win that are just begining. Thanks to the BHO sponsors who make it possible.

What about something like a prepaid trip to one of the bluegrass
camps. Nash Camp or others.

It says a lot that there are such great and generous sponsors for this site. Keep up the good work!
Thursday, June 10, 2010 @4:01:03 AM
And this is precisely the reason for my banjo dreams.
Thanks for the chance!
Friday, June 11, 2010 @7:47:28 AM
I like the banjo and the pack, its like saying," Hey here is your tool and your instructions now get to work and make this world a better place." One note at a time we will make this world better.

A ten string banjer...Hot damn!
Thursday, July 1, 2010 @4:03:55 PM
I am new to the site, but I wanted to say thanks to Banjo Hngout, Gold Tone and ALL the others that have made this super prize possible! Thanks! And I love the site!
Friday, July 9, 2010 @7:19:14 PM
What if people who enter the drawing are 4string players? the site is called banjohangout.com, not 5-stringbanjohangout.com.
Still, all the mini prizes are a great idea but i agree with the other people saying to have multiple winners of accessory packages and one grand prize winner. But also, just because the Grand price is for 5string banjo pickers, why not have the accessories flexible depending upon wheteher the winner plays 5 or 4string banjo.....
Tuesday, July 20, 2010 @9:12:11 AM
Hannanathan: Put your prize(s) in the classifieds and buy some 4-string stuff. Easy as that. ;)

Hey - I hadn't picked up on this before. Do I win one of these as well as the great Jay Moschella banjo? If so, it's like Christmas and Easter rolled into one! ;-)
