Band in a box

Posted by DrBob on Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Hey, have any of you guys or gals experienced "band in a box?" It's a computer program that allegedly allows you to create a band, in order to practice playing along.

It's a great teaching/learning tool. You can put chords to any song in it and it will play backup for any song at any tempo and in any key.

If you'll do a search here on the Hangout, you'll find dozens of threads about it.

Highly recommend it. I still use it everyday for practice.

Thanks...I've heard mixed reviews, but I'll also check past threads, as you suggest. It sure does seem convenient.

I find it's a huge program, and you only use a small percent of it.

Only get the basic version, and you won't need the addons.

Thanks Gordon. By the way, do they offer a special "Bluegrass" component, or is it the type of one size fits all program?
