Moderator Team Changes

Posted by schlange on Saturday, March 20, 2010

Hi Everyone,

We've got a few moderators rotating off the team, and five new moderators coming on board.

First--thanks so much to the moderators who are heading out. Keith Fuller (gottasmilealot), Jessica Wolff (brokenstrings), and Rusty Casteele (Poppy) are all moving into "civilian life." All three of these moderators have put in countless hours over the years, so I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to them again for everything they've done. I'm sure it'll be a relief to step away from mod duties and just be regulars again!

The new moderators are Mike Mulhollan (banjomikey), Bill Rogers (Bill Rogers), Peter Cedermark (Pjotor)Ron Walker (ronwalker49), and Robert Harris (un5trung).

They will join the current moderator team, which includes Ian Quayle (Ian_banjo), Lynne Verity (jazzylynne), Ronnie Collins (Ronnie), and Sherry Chapman (Texasbanjo) to create the largest moderator team we've had to date--9 mods! I'm hoping it'll be enough so that any one moderator doesn't feel they have to put in large amounts of time.

Thanks to the all moderators (the ones leaving, the ones staying, and the ones coming on) for volunteering their time to keep the BHO running smoothly.

Now let's play nice!

There is no "i" in "team".
And if there was, it would be before "e", except after "c".
Now you know the rules, so get out there and moderate as modestly as modernity allows.
And good luck.

Cool. Thanks to the mods leaving, those staying and those coming on board. You guys (and gals) make it work... This is a greater place because of you!

How much moder could a moderator rate,
If a moderator could rate moder?

Ladies and Gentlemans, start your rators!

When did Hugh (banjoman) stop being a moderator, did I miss something?

Welcome to all the new Mods. Eric, in the future, it would be nice to see a few more female mods. If none volunteered, maybe a recruitment effort could be undertaken.

Hi Diva,

We had nearly half of our mod team as females for the past year or more (3 of the 7)...the current percentage (20%) is much closer to representing the BHO population. So I'm happier with it how it now is than how it was before, in terms of gender representation.

kdstag--Hugh stepped down as a mod...heck...~1 year ago I think? Not sure exactly when, but it's been a while now.

Thanks to moderators past and present. I am so excited whenever I log in here. The conversation is civilized, witty, worldly, and knowledgeable. Now if this board could apply those principles to religion and politics, banjo players would rule the world. Hmmm? would it be 5 string, tenor, or plectrum players that would rule the world?

With the economy like it is, I hope they received a nice severance package!

Seriously, thanks to all those whom have served as moderators and good luck to all of the new ones!

A muderater keeps mud from slinging about. They have an amazing ability to morph into eraserators if the mud slinging doesn't stop. :-)
