Thurs the 21 of March, 2007.
Heading out on a 171-mile round trip, to teach a bunch of Cub Scouts how to make the Wonderful One-Stringed Wunjo. (See my website for Wunjo info.)
Anyway: Did you ever notice? When the windshield wipers break, it's very seldom the PASSENGER side, and it's very rarely just before you turn onto your own street for the last hundred yards!
Also, if you've never been there before, Mapquest can help. Except that, if they tell you to take THISS Rd, until it intersects with THATT Rd, they might not know tif a section of Thiss Rd has been renamed "DIFARINT Rd" .
So, of course, I got to an intersection of Thiss Rd, Yetanother Rd, and Difarint Rd. Figured I was lost, turned in the diredction of the town I could see, and asked for directions. Turns out I should have kept on Difarint Rd.
Well, I eventually got to the place, and the kids were great. Best thing about it, every time I leave a Scout troop, I feel a bit less despair about the future of our Nation.
Hooray! for the Scouts, and BOO-Hiss on Mapquest!

Mike, you're a wunjer :)
I've had best luck with Google Maps, myself... but I am itching for one of those fancy GPS gadgets, if only to have a voice in the car that will never criticize my driving skills!

It least you are one man that will ask for directions, as I do!

I use mapquest often. As a limo driver, I think it's great except when it's wrong. I drove a car with a GPS screen and I was not impressed. The screen says "You are approaching interchange onto I-5" Well DUH! I could see that just by looking at the signs! (evidently a lost art)

Brother gregory,
I have always noticed that may wiper blades always seem to fail during a rainstorm!
I'm begining to wonder if those things are water soluble. :>|
Wonderin' in Alabama,
Eddie

Mapquest sometimes doesn't update very often. I was looking for a place one time, and they said the street had been removed by the city (Nashville, I think) two or three years before. Something new in the mapping world since the advent of computers is "ground truthing" so you can trust the map. I use Google Earth. I can use the aerial view, which in most cases is pretty recent. only construction messes that up. like out on the main highway here in Pablo, MT. 'til 2008, when it all is supposed to be finished.

Having lived up here from coast to coast I've learned the weather finds your weakest link.
