Right now I'm learning Tom Arri's arrangement of Gum Tree Canoe as played by John Hartford. What a fantastic song this is. I first saw John's videos on youtube (refered there by a BHO member). You know the ones on the black stage with no audience. John sure reached out from 1850 and tickled my fancy. I don't hope to learn the soft shoe accompaniment at this time, but sure can appreciate the power of this song after listening to it played by John Hartford. Thanks Tom if you happen to read this. I can hear your mark on the arrangement, but the Hartford spirit is still strong in it.

I love that song too. There's a guy on here called "Frailin' who has (or had at one time) a really good arrangement on his homepage.
