The Barkers Vale Brothers

Posted by Gareth Banjoland on Friday, February 19, 2010

Hello out there Banjoist's of all descriptions!!

Its been a while since my last rant and many strange occurrences have occurred -as it is their rightful job to do so...

Our European Tour was a success and another is planned for 2010, the Australian Banjo conference was a jolly bit of fun and I'm disappointed the dates have been changed for this years (means I cannot attend) , but one of the most exciting things was the establishment of The Barkers Vale Brothers, a bluegrass, roots and swing duo with my Half brother Vaughan Davies.

After six months of practice and performances we have just finished recording our first album -"Volume 1"

As well as us it features guest artists Louisa Wise on fiddle, Frank Powesland on Dobro and Dan the Man on Electric guitar on one track. It was recorded at the Boranup studios near Margaret River by the marvellous Manfred Bruggler and mastered by Sean Digguns of The Ten Cent Shooters.

I will post some tunes from the album on my music page!

All the best folks

Gareth

Wow you've sure been busy.

Shame you'll miss the next Banjo Conference.... who are we gonna get to stand on their head on a stool and pick us a song to listen to?

Make sure you post when you're doing the rounds of Aus.

Kip
