On a deserted stretch of dirt road, or a parking lot, getting the hang of letting out the clutch without stalling or peeling out. Then shifting into second gear, stopping without stalling, even trying reverse.
I still can't drive in traffic, but I can get down to the mailbox and back without too much damage. Figuratively speaking. I never thought I'd be learning something new at this ripe old age. It's disorienting.
