The banjo of Dave Talbot vol.3
Written by Recokin
He who is 'banjo freak' ...it's certain any more:-)... says so, and begins to remove the resonator assiduously. I was surprised that he shows 'the inside of the skirt' that is a secret part of his own banjo by himself without my request! There is not happiness any further for me of banjo freak (Do I recognize it by myself!?). Incidentally, he was using only two bolts of resonator.
Well, there were 20 holes certainly in the ring. In other words, it is the version without plating of the normal flat head ring. There may really be an opinion that the one without plating has better sound.
Dave : I use a pickup mic on today's stage.
Recokin : Is this the Jones?
Dave : No. It's Fishman.
When he attaches resonator again...
Dave : Please play more.
Therefore, I sat on the ground this time, and played "John Henry (Key G)" and "Shuck'n The Corn".
Dave : Do you like to play the Scruggs tunes? It's nice.
If I think now, I should have added the licks of Dave on my play. But I played faithfully more than usual in the Scruggs style because I got so excited. I was stupid...
Dave : What finger picks are you using?
Recokin : The National. The old one.
Dave : They are 70s' because they have the USA mark. They are before 60s' without the USA mark.
Recokin : Wow! It's true...
...:-)
Well, how long were we speaking in? It was short time to me, but it may have been more than 20 minutes because Dave went to take a banjo to his dressing room and I played three tunes.
However, we must not continue 'discussion of banjo freak' just like this. I said to Dave that I was looking forward to performance in the stage and said good-bye with the brothers Talbot.
Mmm... What nice guys the brothers Talbot are! Moreover both of them are handsome. The brothers Talbot are fabulous!
