We had our first gig for the new year yesterday which is a great start. Our first gig was a grand opening of a Bed & Breakfast in the piney woods about 50 miles north of here. It was a three hour (paying) affair with a short break in the middle. We played pretty much nonstop and never repeated a single song. We do have the advantage of playing together for about ten years so that helps and everyone does some lead singing too. Had a wonderful time and were warmly received by a mostly non-bluegrass crowd. We even got a hand when leaving......................or was that a hand for leaving? At any rate we had a great time picking and got paid to boot, it just don't get much better than that.

Hi Fred,
Glad you had fun... I like doing that stuff too, but if it's not the fiddler trying to whack me with his bow it's the bass player swinging the neck around by my face! Us banjo players never get the peace we deserve! ha ha
