Today I had one of the best days of my life. It's time to wrap up the Portland Old Time Music Gathering POTMG tomorrow, and I surely will enjoy knowing what it means to sleep at night again, but I will miss the music....closing my eyes while in those jam groups and being in the fantastic tunes all around me...seeing new friends that within 3 days feel like old friends...and, of course, these crevasses in my calloused fingertips! Didn't quite wear out the soles of my shoes from all the toe tapping and dancing, but darn near!
It was here on BHO that I met some fine folks, espectially Scott K, who helped make this trip so awesome. Now, it's on to the project of getting those songs off my recorder and memorized!
Truly, this was nothing but joy for me....thanks Scott and all you others out there who have been around Portland and have given me such a rockin' time. Like hearing Jason and Pharis Romero with Erynn Marshall??? Give me a break -- it was the greatest!!
Peace, Nancy

Missed you somehow. I saw Scott a couple of times in passing.
I had a great time. But it was a bit crowded for me in the hall. A friend and I camped out in the parking lot behind the Norse Hall. So, when things got to noisy or we needed a break, we sat in his vanagon and played a few tunes.
Portland is a fine city. I went for about an 8 mile walk on Saturday (Ruby was with me and she needed some exercise). Walked from Norse Hall to Mount Tabor park. In the rain! That was fun, too.
Perhaps we will connect next year. Dave T.

Nancy and Dave, it was great seeing both of you at POTMG! Sorry we didn't get a chance to play any tunes together, Dave. Nancy, you missed the square dance in the dart room at the back of the Moon & Sixpence at 1:00am! :-)
Scott

Man, I can't believe I missed you, Dave! So sorry...although, if you think about it, we probably did see each other amongst the throngs! The crowds were a bit too over-stimulating for me also, but once I'd get into a jam, it all seemed to fall away. Figured I "jammed" about 10 different times -- just the best thing ever! Dave, we will catch each other next time, and Scott, thanks again! I was instantly in love with Erynn Marshall, so how cool that you got to dance with her. Now there is boundless energy!
