Moving Along

Posted by Trower67 on Wednesday, March 14, 2007

Have learned banjo in the holler and am always practicing this and  Cripple Creek to come up to speed and am doing this gradually. I am using Murphy Method cd beginning banjo #1. Now I am very slowly learning Foggy Mountain Breakdown. Learning pulloffs has been a pain but I add this to practice. Oh forgot the pushoffs also, i love playing this instrument , I find myself constantly longing to play it  and practice. when I hear music on the radio or cd many of them I hear a banjo playing along with the tune as backup when it is not there. Am I crazy or have I fallen in love with the banjo.

Bless!! You are probably both. Lets face it, we have to be crazy to play the banjo in the first place but don`t worry, we`ve all been there. I don`t want to be the first to tell you this, but it gets much worse. Wait until the banjos are taking over the house.

You're both. You fell in love with the banjo and it made you crazy. No turning back now, so just admit the addiction and live with it. At least you'll never get busted for gettin high while playing your banjo! regards, Stanger

Kevin, I've been Playing the banjo {tenor and 5 } for a long time. My only reget is switching form tenor to 5.  I'm now 57 years old and wish I would have stayed with the 5 when I started it in 72.  But one thing I learned through all of this is once you start on this "damn" instrument you will NEVER be able to shake it!  KEEP ON PICK'N KEV.  Joe
