YES SIR.
Finally i got myself a goldtone BC350. It took me a coupple of days to get used to the very low string hight and now i love it. And guess what.... I got a student. It is girl who worked as a bartender at my theater who always wanted to learn how to play the banjo but couldn't afford one. After I got my bc-350 she could borrow my old heavyly modifyed stagg-banjo just to get her started. Not many people in denmark want to learn the banjo so i take it as a great honour to get the opportunity to pass on and share what I have learned. I have never had a "Real" teacher myself so I have learned everything from dvds, jamming with my friend Tobias and from your guys here on BHO - Thanks for that :-).
So far I gave only one lesson but I have already learned so much by doing that. I had to break up everything I know down to it's simples form and that is very giveing. When i play i use alot of drupthumbs and In the future it is going to be a great challenge not to drubthump when teaching basic banjo-playing. Those of you guys have experience ( teachers as well as students ) and would like to give me some advice on this issue, please don't hesitate to write me :-)
I still have a lot to learn, and maybe it is to early for me to start teaching, but on the other hand only one other person in demmark teaches clawhammer-banjo ( as far as i know ) so why not try to pass on my skills to everyone willing to learn this great tecnique?
best wishes to all your pickers out there
Lorix
