Another post about playing at contra dances.
We had another good night last night. Mark, our lead fiddler, chose some great tune combinations, and the energy levels were high.
At the end of the night, I told him that I would miss next Monday due to some business travel. Mark said, "Aw, I miss having you here. It's just not the same without the banjo." It just doesn't get any better than that, right? I wonder if I can delay my trip by one day?

Truly has gotta be one of the finer things in life, those little comments that could have so easily just never been said but that warm the cockles of your heart!
I just recently starting playing with a local jam and am new at the banjo. When I am too scared about messing up the great tunes I play backup guitar just fine. But every Thursday now I find I am playing the banjo for more and more songs...someone just showed me the Galax Lick! (So THAT's how they get Angeline the Baker to sound right!) Anyhoo, this last Thursday one of the fiddlers walked around the circle near the end to tell me she could hear my banjo and it was sounding good. Wow, so nice...and kind.
So, am I embarrassed to learn someone can actually hear me or pleased at the kind comment? He he, both...for sure.
David, just came across your Cold Frost Morning on the Jukebox --- Lovely!
