Happy holidays! Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week already? It seems the older I get the faster time flies. Or, to quote a humorous phrase I once heard:
"Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana"
Alright, forgive the comedy interlude there. Now, on with the regularly scheduled programming...
For all you Michigan pickers, there's a concert called The Bluegrass Extravaganza that's taking place this coming Saturday, Nov. 21, in Cedar Springs, Mi., at the Kent Theater. It's a fundraiser for the West Michigan Bluegrass Music Association (http://www.wmbma.org), and there are two bands on the bill: Luke Lenhart is up first, followed by my group Rogue River Grass (http://www.roguerivergrass.com). The concert starts at 7pm, followed by open jamming afterwards. If you live in or near west Michigan it would be fun to see you up there. Be sure and say hi if you come.
I've been actively blogging at my blog (see address in signature below) and I know that some of you on the Hangout enjoy reading my stuff, so I thought I'd give you a few links to some of my articles so you can check them out. Here they are (click on the blue underlined links to read the blog posts):
*) I just posted an article today with a title of I'm retiring my banjo picks. Thanks for the memories. I'll let you discover what that's about.
*) Part 1 of a 5 part series for beginner's: 5 part series for beginners on chords.
*) An audio blog post about building speed on the banjo: Tips and advice on building speed on the banjo.
Those are just a select few articles. There's over 70 articles on my blog now, so if you go there, don't hesitate to surf around a bit and see if you can find anything that interests you.
Thanks everyone. I hope things are good in your banjo worlds, and I'd love it if you would say hi here on the Hangout or maybe leave some comments on the bottom of some of the blog posts. Take care, happy Thanksgiving, and as I always say: pick 'em if ya got 'em!
