I started Lee Marcus' arrangement of In The Pines recently and may have to try again later. It has several new techniques that are foreign to me like "unbending" (I don't know what the technique is actually called). There are also some really tricky spots on the rythm. I'm really going to give it the old college try though. I think this is a must have jam song and this arrangement is really bluesy and cool sounding. The bluesy licks will serve me well later on I think.

You bend or "choke" a string to raise its sound, you unbend or unchoke" to release it back to its original sound.
In other words, what you're probably seeing is a choke and then, instead of just letting go, you choke it back to where it was. Make sense?
