Just got finished doing 3 shows down town last weekend. Our band, Bald Mountain, provided all the music for a puppet show adapted from the novel Fup, by Jim Dodge.
It was a complete blast. The band members worked out really well with the puppeteers and crew, the audiences were really enthusiastic, and we got to hang out in an area down town that seems to be making a comeback.
Ten years back you would have felt pretty unsafe in the block all the activity took place, but now there's two theaters on one side of the street and an amazing gourmet pizza bar and recording studio on the other side of the street.
Before the final two shows, we would warm up in the alley behind the theater while groups of kids were putting new grafitti on the walls. The theater is right down the street from the city art college and students are encouraged to brighten up the alley with multi color designs. Adds a bit of charm. It was a really cool atmosphere with the lights and some folks watching us from the fire escape.

Great picture that's full of life! Sounded like a real good time. I wish I had seen it.
