Yesterday I was practicing the banjo while my wife was getting ready in the bathroom. We were going to a concert about an hour away and going to have dinner with friends before the show.
I finished playing, " Will the Circle be Unbroken" and she stuck her head out of the bathroom and said, " That "actually" sounded pretty good".
Those of you that don't know my wife, she doesn't throw around compliments very readily. I asked her if she had just complimented me on my playing and her response was, " Well, your playing is starting to become tolerable". :~)
She actually suggested that I post here on the hangout that she is noticing a difference in my playing ( for the better). It is nice to hear someone else's perception of your playing ability. Sometimes I get frustrated and feel that I am stuck in a rut. Very encouraging to know that she is hearing a difference.
I am going over to my good friend John Coleman's ( mainejohn) to do a little playing this afternoon and to learn a couple of new songs. We'll have to see if he also notices that my playing ability is becoming " tolerable" :~)

Nice going Don. You must be making progress if your wife has made a comment. Mine always says that I sound better when the banjos back in it's case.

Funny thing that! My partner Joanie said almost the same thing a couple of weeks ago on holiday.
Could it be a female conspiracy?? if not, congratulations Don, it certainly lifted MY spirit to hear it.
