I have not had much time to be on the Hang Out this summer. My wife and I have been following the Drag Boat Racing series and doing some traveling. We just got back from the Southern Natiionals in Augusta Georgia. Man these racers have guts. Over 250 miles an hour in a quarter mile pass.
I am still taking lessons and am making some progress. I would like for my instructor to introduce me to more new songs than what I have been, but I guess she knows best. I feel like I have to have them perfect before moving on to the next song. My goal is to play on the back porch and not in a band.
Hope all is going well for all my hang out friends and this fall, I will be around more often. See ya later.

Good to read about your travels. Just tell your instructor that you want a new tune every time (or however often) - that's what I do! If you struggle you can always go back to less often. Good luck.

Do you need your tutor to give you tunes? How about trawling through the selection on the hangout and pick out some you fancy, download the tabs and have a go yourself, it can't do any harm and breaks the monotony of playing the same thing over and over, you can still practice the other stuff to perfection. What is Drag Boat racing? I've heard of Drag Car.

Drag boat racing is small flat bottom or hydroplane boats with large horse power motors, which start from a dead stop and drag race 1/4 mile to a finish line. They have different classes that range from 4 second to 12 seconds start to finish or 90 to 256 MPH. You could see some on the web at IHBA.com or KDBA.com
