I guess I can't keep the '49 reissue forever. I bought the an faux Giby ' RB 1 Custom' copy. It is maple needs a fiting job for my pot etc. but I may send it out to get done. The neck needs a few more things to make it suit me like side position dots, filling a few divots in the peghead face. It is maple and I think I will put a mahogany resonator on if for now. I'm trying a recording king one from Banjo.com. So I'll have a banjo back in business for less than I thought possible earlier.
Sound? well the neck touches on the bottom part of the rim but not between the flange and tone ring at all. So I'm sure this is choking off much of the bass response. We'll see later when I get it all together.
