My suggestion remains the same it always has been:
Make studio recordings of Charlie Cushman playing Nellie with Mike Compton playing Bill Monroe's mandolin and sell it as two of the world's best-known instruments FINALLY singing together again. Sell the CD, apply the profits to the instrument fund.
or, have many different artists playing those same instruments - Vestal and Sam Bush, Jim Mills and Ricky Skaggs, Ron Stewart and Adam Steffey, Kristin Benson and Danny Roberts, Big K and Larry Stephenson. Get my drift? It would work.
