The significance of "we"

Posted by paulrobertwagner on Tuesday, May 26, 2009

Today during my banjo lesson my instructor kept on using variations of the word we as he spoke.  He'd say things like "When we play this roll" and refer to the banjo as "our instrument."  Then it occurred to me -- this is what I'd been missing when I was trying to teach myself to play.   The interpersonal connection and shared sense of purpose with a good teacher is much more significant than I knew.   I now know it's what I needed to move forward, and doubt I could ever really be a banjo player without it.

Hey Paul,

Drop me a line at tomarri2@aol.com and we'll discuss Beatles banjo privately.
