A fun time was had by all the folks I saw at Banjo Camp North this past weekend. Mike Holmes & his family, & Phil Zimmerman, did a terrific job of setting up a wonderful camping experience once again. The instructors were fabulous, & the weather could not have been nicer! PyrPups (my hubby) & I took 2 complete banjo newbies with us, & they both had a great time, under the careful expertise of Bob Altschuler.
I took classes with Janet Davis, Tony Trischka, Alan Kaufman, Rich Stillman, Bruce Stockwell, & Dave Reiner (my very first FIDDLE lessons!). They gave me so much information that I am sure glad I had my Edirol recorder with me! It will take me at least a year to assimilate all the new information which I learned.
Saturday, a bunch of us had a "singing" jam, which was tremendous fun! Kathy O'Connell, Laura Moss, Lea Katchurian (sp?), K.C. King, Bob Altschuler, my hubby Kerry, & a bunch of others whose names I never caught sang our hearts out until about 2 a.m. This will definitely be repeated next year!
We cannot wait for Banjo Camp North 2010, which will be the 10th anniversary of this particular camp! If you have never gone there, do yourself a favor & go!
