The sound of those five strings are something I will never tire of hearing. Not just when a master plays but anyone who plunks out a tune is enough to drive the rain away! A dear friend of mine plays an open back another friend put together from parts of several banjos.I remember when he started and thought he couldn't do it.
Jerry,I said, you can't give up.You are showing too much progress! He was getting better little by little and I always tried to encourage him to make him proud of his hard work.
I recall one day when he had figured out some rolls and began to put them together. He was beaming with the biggest smile you ever saw.I was thrilled for my small part in all that. Those are the times when I feel like I made some contribution to this old world.
Others began to compliment him.At that moment everything was alright,no...wonderful! God bless you Jerry wherever you might be.
