I added a Moon bridge to my banjo. I got the heavy weight 5/8 bridge, and boy is there a difference. It's too bad I got used to it so quickly, because it really changes the sound of the banjo for the better. I ordered mine from Zepp's country Music store, 'cause that's where I first spotted them.
My Hohner banjo is a pretty nice little instrument already with the brass tone ring and nice heavy duty parts, but now it's even better.

I found a cheaper copy of the moon bridge hiding in a block of wood in my workshop a few months back and can't believe the difference it has made to my vintage banjo as well. I keep making them and experimenting with weight and design to see how it effects the tone quality. It is funny how different they can sound from one to the next. I am trying out a piece of pear wood from a tree that fell apart in my yard this winter. Should be fun!
