Well maybe restoring is not the correct words but definitely rescuing it. This was discovered in a cousin's attic after being thought, by the entire family, that it was gone. I have researched and found out it was a Stromberg-Voisinet, predecessor to the Kay instrument company. Probably bought through Montgomery Ward Catalog. Not worth much as to a collector but priceless to me.
I wanted to keep the original character but I worked the wood and the metal to clean the rust and gunk, cleaned up what needed cleaning, replaced what needed replacing and have it working and playing great again. Take a look at the pictures in my photo album. I'll post a video of it this weekend.
