Hi again everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that Megan Lynch and I will be teaching and performing in the Midwest this week, beginning with a concert in Evanston on Thursday, April 22nd. The highlight of the weekend is our day in Madison, Wisconsin in Saturday, April 24th. Megan and I will be leading fiddle & banjo workshops and a jamming workshop before performing in concert that night.
Here are all of the details:
April 23: Evanston, IL: Bill Evans and Megan Lynch make their Chicago area concert debut at Bill's Blues, 1029 Davis Street, 7 to 9:30 p.m., $10 cover at the door, 847-424-9800 or http://www.billsbluesbar.com/ for info.
April 24: Glendale, WI: Bill Evans and Megan Lynch in concert for the Milwaukee Area Bluegrass Association, Brass Bell Music Store, 210 W. Silver Spring Drive, concert begins at 6 p.m. $12 admission. Email to lsandersen@wi.rr.com for reservations or visit http://swbmai.org/ more info.
April 25: Madison, WI: Bill Evans and Megan Lynch host banjo, fiddle and jamming workshops and perform in an evening concert for the Southern Wisconsin Bluegrass Music Association. All activities at the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center, 953 Jinifer St. Fiddle and banjo workshops from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jamming workshop from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Concert at 7:30 p.m. Visit http://swbmai.org/ for more info.
April 26: Chicago, IL : Bill Evans and Megan Lynch teach fiddle and banjo workshops at the Old Town School of Folk Music, 4544 Lincoln Avenue from 3 to 4:50 p.m. Bill's workshop is Play Great Banjo Backup in a Bluegrass Band and is open to all levels of students. This will be a "hands on, let's play" session covering Scruggs/Crowep style backup and accompaniment techniques.. After this weekend, I'll be off the road for the month of May, hopefully putting together a tab book of the banjo breaks from the "Native and Fine," "Bill Evans Plays Banjo" and Due West's "These Boots" CDs.
