Thanks Al!

Posted by Tim-mater on Friday, April 17, 2009

Just placed an order for a Nechville Meteor. What a great experience! Al took me on the Nechville virtual tour (we played some great banjos and he told the Nechville story) and when the time was right to get down to business the order process was easier done than said.

Some folks have a "lucky lady" at the table in LasVegas... Well for me - my lucky lady (my wife) has helped me pick out some of the better instruments I have acquired. So she came with me and picked out a great inlay pattern for my new electric banjo.  (I will post pictures when the banjo arrives)

Al - you are a great host, and a good guy.

I am looking forward to the new banjo!

Tim,

It was a pleasure to meet you and your sweetheart, and spend a little time talking banjos.   Hope we can do it again soon.

The Meteor is already in the queue and they will begin work on it on Monday morning.

I get as excited as the new owner when a banjo is underway.    This one will be a beauty.

Al

Woo Hoo! I promise I will not bug you constantly and do things like ask for JPEGs of every shaving that comes off of the neck blank, or a blow-by-blow account  of the inlays beings cut, or call the factory and ask for tap tone of the body wood, or constantly change the string guage request, or wait for 6 weeks and change my mind on the tunnel neck, or bounce back and forth on natural finish or sun burst, singlecoil - humbucker - no hot rail - no definately humbucker...

My wife called the guys from First Quality who took the order and managed the process when I had my Greenbrier built; they are praying for you Al. JC (from FQMS) is still in therapy, Eric is starting to get his self confidence back (I understand the night terrors are almost gone as well), and Murl simply won't return my calls.

I can be patient, I can be patient, I can be patient...
