Last Sunday evening, February 11, 2007, I had the great pleasure of attending the Banjo Special in Toronto Canada. As the temperature up here is about minus 1000 degrees these days, this concert was held indoors (go figure) at the Tranzac Club. Four banjo artists (Arnie Naiman, Chris Quinn, Chris Coole and Brian Taheny) provided a wonderful smorgasbord of styles and talent. I thoroughly enjoyed all the music, the humour, the intimate venue and was inspired yet again to practice, practice, practice. There were far too many high spots to mention individually. My only regret is that this was the 8th annual special. Apparently I missed the first 7, as I had my head stuck in the sand (or elsewhere). I won't be missing the next 7.
