Library & Bluegrass

Posted by Pepper Laing on Monday, March 30, 2009

I just discovered that the Library is a good source for Bluegrass. I went yesterday on a whim, and there was a ton of cds available to check out, and I got the DVD High Lonesome, The story of Bluegrass music. It was awesome and It has turned me on to some Bluegrass I have never checked out yet. I have a very limited Bluegrass collection, and mostly just create my own music, but I really want to learn more songs to have in my arsenal, that people know and that I can jam with others. I have heard Ralph Stanley, but very little, and I think he`s one of my new favorites. I like the fact he plays banjo and is the lead singer, just as I`am in my group. It`s a hard thing to do. Plus he is real cool and authentic! Thanks Library.

Hey Sunnie jr, I think I`ll decide my own favorites thanks for the great advice though. If you could read and comprehend I said Ralph is a new favorite, I`m quite aware of JD, and Sonny. I`ll tell you what, you learn how to read and spell and then offer me some wisdom champ! lol
