I love getting out and watching people play, listening to their music and making new friends as we do it. Last night we went to Louisville and met some great musicians and heard some great sounds. People just getting together to jam and make other people happy while doing it. Met some great people and want to thank them for letting us into their suite. Hickory Vaught, a great singer and Mandolin player was a blast to hang out with and Steve Mouler, a great singer and Banjo player was a hoot as well. Great people and loved their company. Hope to meet them again in the future.
Ok, if anyone has other ideas of where to go and listen to great music and meet great people in the tri state area, please let me know. I want to get out this year and enjoy the world of Bluegrass. Thanks for listening and good day.

Hey! Theres a place in owensboro that I have been to I think twice. Its at the bluegrass museum. they play on thursday nights i think. Its just a bunch of locals that get together and do some pickin. The people there really try to include you in the playin they have been a big help to me with timing. I usually end up listenin more than playing cuz they are really good plus Im to shy to get out there and try to pick with em all! playing with others is the best way to help with timing!!

Hickory Vaught... my best friend... it's me Steve Mouler, actually the last name is Mohler. I have never been described as a "hoot". Hehe... So another good place to check out live bluegrass, if you feel like making a road trip is the Rosine Barn Jam held every Friday night of the year in Rosine, Kentucky (the birthplace and childhood home of Bill Monroe). Bring your instrument because besides the barn stage there is jamming all evening... sometimes until 1 or 2 in the morning... Everyone keep on pickin'....

Hey Steve, I remember you and your hospitality. Sorry about the spelling. I would love to get together again some time. If you don't mind I will add you to my friends list. Thanks and drop me a PM and maybe we can hook up for that road trip. We are going down to Crowe Fest tomorrow.
