there's nothing too important to say, just feel like expressing myself and where i'm at. my progress continues to be slooooow. i wanted to be able to upload a couple of tunes by now, yet just can't get there yet.
i was wondering if there were other beginners out there who wanted to compare notes (pun intended) so i checked out the members' homepages section. i found out that i could find people who label themselves just starting or whatever but i came up with another issue. am i 'just startin' or am i a 'novice'.
that doesn't sound like a big deal i know, but there's apparently a difference and i wonder what i am. having my banjo for the last two years doesn't mean i've been playing for the last two years - which i really haven't, more like the last two months - so i know i'm in the beginning stages of playing but, what am i? and how do i connect with someone else who's in the same level as i?
oh well. it's not that pressing or important but it would be nice to know. if there's another beginner/novice/starter in Connecticut who'd like to practice together or just commiserate, send me a line. all i can tell you about my current stage is that i'm still a slow and sloppy picker and i haven't gotten past 'Worried Man' yet.
oh, one more thing. how does one strum a banjo? would i use a soft flat pick? i'm asking because i want to take some advice i got recently about strumming along with a song.
