BOTH of my bands will be performing at the Old South Jamboree, along with two other bands, in Walker, LA, on March 7, 2009. This is usually a country venue, but they are hosting a bluegrass night, and it's going to be a lot of fun!!! Tuning South is a very talented duo, Sweet Tea Bluegrass has been playing in and around Baton Rouge for some time, and they are a great bunch of musicians. My two bands are Bayou Bluegrass (I play banjo and sing some leads but mostly backup, and we'll be doing an all gospel set) and The Darold Dixey Band (I play banjo and sing mostly leads). If you're in or near Baton Rouge on March 7, I would encourage you to come on out and support some local talent. The music is certain to be good, and you may well help Old South Jamboree decide to start a regular bluegrass show!
