Ahhhh! It has been a wonderful couple of days.
As many of us know it is quite a thrill to discover that package on your porch as you come home from a hard days work. What could it be you ask? Why a banjo of course!
Two banjos in two days to be precise!
I only get to keep one of them for myself however. Thanks to the generosity of hangout member ban-joe the kids at church will be plucking away on a wonderful parts banjo that has been donated by him. I'm sure it will bring a lot of joy to their lives! I'm also sure they will be happy to miss the last 15 minutes of Sunday School for their free lessons that I will be giving them.
Oh yea and the other banjo...
The next day after receiving the banjo from ban-joe I was quite suprised to get a call from my uncle asking if I would like to trade my 2001 Martin DX-1 (which has an EXCELLENT sound) for his 30s-40s-ish Gibson Kalamazoo five-string. I could hardly contain myself as I choked out the words....well....sure...I...guess.
So I am now the proud owner of an original (and almost mint) pre-war banjo.
Yup, two banjos in two days...I hope this trend continues.
