It was grrrreat. ( roll your 'r' on that one ).
A friend " Chicken Bob" has a little cafe' and does a Robby Burns night each year. Packs the place.
First a piper pipes in the haggis, and it gets displayed to each table. Then a " tribute to the haggis " is read by someone with the proper accent, discribing it's origin, production and details of what is in a traditional one. I'm hoping that the one we had was made with more modern sensitivites in mind.....and maybe a few health department suggestions as well.
Then the piper pipes the haggis into the kitchen and we get some with each meal. Wonderful ! Add to that the gravey made with genuine Scotch and peper-corns. Hmmmm good !
Then we get to play. Dave the guitar player singer, a brit, who knows every traditional song there is, Mike, multiple time B.C. fiddlin champ, can he play or what ??? and me on the banjo ! What a blast.
So, happy Robby Burns day.
