First of all,time sure does fly when you're having fun..It's almost the end of 2008 and it's been one of the best ever...Regarding music,I feel my playing has improved more than I would have thought..reason being is that I've taken just about every opportunity offered to play and played..and practiced...being able to jam a few times a month has had such a positive effect..brings in new songs to learn,new folks to jam with as well as all my old friends..At the Joe Val Festival I got to jam with my buddies from Crabgrass,met my new partner in crime Banjorobb..BanjoCamp North is always a blast,if you're thinking of going,go..both the students and teachers are top notch..I got to work a few festivals over the summer,got to MC a show and it was a blast..Became a diehard fan of Nothin Fancy (who dedicated Hot Corn Cold Corn to me on stage..still haven't figured that one out yet,but have taken to wearing my hair in pig tails since the show).My 5th time at Nashcamp was the charm.It's like a big family reunion where you learn banjo and play all day and night..There's truly nothing like it..Meeting Charlie Cushman and Arthur Hatfield just topped off our trip.I learned more than I thought down there and really can hear it in my playing...I am not sure quite what 2009 will hold in store for me,but I've got my tix to Joe Val and I'm rearing to go..Happy New Year everyone...
