This is from a KSB post. I'm assuming it's a tuner. If not, what is it?

Korg had a violin tuner that would work on a banjo in that location. It was more oval in shape though. I don't know if it's sold anymore.

And there was a cool attachment made (I still have one or two) to attach the ball-and-socket Snark tuners to the brackets. I'm just not a huge fan of those tuners. they break at the socket and then can't be used on anything.

I'm no help with the OP question, but I like my decidedly uncool attachments. I didn't like the cool one I had/have for the Snark, because it doesn't allow for "tilting" to get rid of glare. I cobbled up two from some HDPE (?) that was laying about + JBWeld + a tiny nail or two. [But, but, but, next to procrastinating, "puttering" is one of my strengths.

Thanks for sharing this! I think you might have nailed it--the tuner in the photo looks like it might be a Peterson clip-on strobe tuner mounted on a Robert Smith magnetic bracket. I have a Peterson, which is a great tuner, but mine clips on the head stock. I'd much rather mount it on my banjo this way using Robert Smith's magnetic bracket.
