I’m looking specifically in the Clayton,Garner area. I looked through the “teachers” but no one close. Have about 20 hours in and think I need some help on finger placement and tempo work. I tried the interwebs and learned a lot, but there’s nothing like sitting across from someone that can give real time corrections.

I'm on the other coast so I can't be of much assistance, but if you've not heard Adam Hurt's "Earthtones" CD I highly recommend it.

Also, our own Noah Cline has a couple recordings, and a ton of YouTube Clips. In my 55+ years of playing and listening he is one of the very best I've ever heard.

Hello Mike, I'm over in the Asheville area but will be working with United Arts in the Raleigh area in the Fall. If you haven't found someone in Clayton by then I could be a traveling teacher. I've been playing clawhammer banjo for many years and have taught banjo and fiddle at various Camps over the years; Maine Fiddle Camp, Pinewoods, Campbell Folk School. Banjo is such a great instrument! - Jennifer
