I have spent a while searching the internet for the cords/sheet music to play "I Just Want to Dance With You" by George Straight on the banjo. But I haven't been able to find it played on a banjo. So I decided to come here to ask if one is it even possible two play this song on the banjo, and two does anyone know where I could find the cords/sheet music to play I Just Want to Dance With You by George Straight on the banjo.

In a search engine put "lyrics I Just Want to Dance With You by George Straight." Instead of "lyrics" try "chords" or "notation" depending on what you want. I can take notation, convert that to the key of G, and then convert that to banjo tab. I will adapt the tab to suit the banjo, me, and generally what sounds best that i am capable of. The above is a good skill to develop because it seems like the songs you want to learn are not banjo or tab available. A lot of times, perhaps most, I just bypass all the above and go from listening/learning to working it out on the banjo. Good wishes! banjered

I find lots of listings of the chords for that song. Mostly listed with guitar chord charts (either in the key of C or the key of A, it seems), but if you know those chords on banjo you can play them on the banjo (and yes, you can play anything you want on the banjo - it has all the same notes on it that any other instrument has).

Nice song but too many verses. Try Together Again by Buck Owens....key of G and easy on the banjo and good for a slow dance.

Songs with distinctive melodies work best if you're playing Bluegrass style banjo. By "distinctive", I'm referring to melodies you hear that end up running around in your head all day. Those types of melodies are few and far between in contemporary Country music, and Straight's song is a good example. I don't think that there's much there to work with for a banjo player. There's probably someone who could do it, but it wouldn't be easy.
