I wish the teacher and luthier reviews were listed by city & state, as well as name.

I've moved your thread to improvements and suggestions where it will get read quicker by admin and the mods.

You can always look up a member on his/her home page and find out more about them by clicking on "About" or if that doesn't answer your questions, you can PM them for information on where they're located, etc.

Thanks. I was hoping for a 'filter'. It gets tedious looking for a teacher that may be hundreds and hundreds of miles away. I don't guess I'd drive even 100 miles...60? maybe.

I just put in my zip code and state and it came up with 16 teachers nearby, some not so nearby, but I can easily see which I might be interested in. I tried it for your zip code and got similar results.

Where and how do you do that? I didn't see a search function in the reviews page.

Use the "Advanced Search" function.

There is no search function at More/Reviews/Teachers. If you go to Learn/Find a teacher, you will have a search function.

Look on the left hand side of the page and click on Learn, then on find a teacher. You can put in state, country, zip code and then used advanced search to search for genre of music and in person or online. That should make it much easier.

yes, follow everyone's instructions, hover over "Learn" then click on "Find a teacher" and you will see it all there. It looks like this: banjohangout.org/teachers/ then you can put in your zip and state.

Well thanks to all. That last post from Texasbanjo gave me the 'clue' I needed. I was looking in Reviews and not finding a search option.  Duh.

I have a one to one teacher although he is not listed among the search results for my zip code. No one is.

I still wish for a search function or a filter for luthiers.

It already exists. Go to this page. banjohangout.org/luthiers/

In the middle of the page click the word "Nearest" . Then put in your zip code and click search. Several in Oregon, apparently.

Oops, my bad...I did find that page. Only one luthier from this area listed and unfortunately he appears to be retired. Sent a PM but am not hopeful.

I understand 'retired.'
