I'm new to playing the banjo. I just ordered a Gold Tone CC-100+ to learn on. Where should I go to get the most bang for my buck for instructional materials? What books, dvds, or web resources are the best to start out with?

Not knowing if you are new to playing stringed instruments (or any instrument), I'll throw this out there because it helped me greatly when I started: clawhammerbanjo.net/8steps/

I played CH for a little while when I first picked up the banjo. Wasn't the wealth of online resources there is now.

Alas, Zepp Country Music is no more, but his Clear head banjo videos were a help.

"Rocket Science Banjo" (web page and utube videos) were there at the time.  Right now the link to the web page is "not secure" on my chromebook.  But you can find a couple videos with a quick search.

Dan Levenson has books and video resources. Tom Collins has video materials, including his series Banjo Blitz. Ken Perlman has books, including Melodic Clawhammer Banjo, Clawhammer Style Banjo, and Everything You Wanted to Know about Clawhammer Banjo. Miles Krassen's book Clawhammer Banjo. There's always Pete Seeger's book, plus, if you can get them, Art Rosenbaum's Old Time Mountain Banjo and John Burke's Book of Old Time Fiddle Tunes for Banjo.

rsb.pricklypearmusic.net/The RSB site is immensely helpful. I just checked, it does indeed show up as Not Secure. It moved from Tony Spadaro's site to Prickly Pear last year. Apparently using http not https. Google tells me it's fine to browse, just don't enter any personal info such as your credit card.
