For this month's tune I've chosen a great reel, "The Floating Crowbar", which has been attributed to both Finbarr Dwyer and also Brendan McGlinchey, according to the thread about it over at thesession.org. It's a pretty straightforward tune but lends itself well to triplets if you're so inclined. Here's a link to the ABC's for it from thesession.org:

Incredible tune Jill - thanks so much for posting TOTM this month! Your playing style never ceases to mesmerize me! :-D

Hit "send" to quickly. I wanted to include Thank You for posting. This forum has been pretty sleepy recently, and it is nice to know there is a racket going on out there.

Yes, but I think even though it may be quiet people like myself continually check in. I've had a very unusual year and the only playing I've done was to post a video here. Other than that, nothing. Zero playing.
But change will come and once I am 100%, or even 90% I am going back to playing. Hopefully soon. Meanwhile, I will just latch onto videos and posts here.

This is a lovely tune and your playing is excellent, Jill. Nice sounding banjo, too! Thanks for posting.
The first time I heard "The Floating Crowbar" was on a youtube clip where the tune is played by Kevin Griffin: youtube.com/watch?v=8-EvT2BOSqM

Lovely simple tune Jill (good for beginners I would say) and great playing as always. I listened to Jill's version and the Kevin Griffin version to come up with my take, with some bouzouki backing.
Hope you can get back to playing soon Wayne. Must be really frustrating for you.
It is a bit disappointing how few tunes are posted on this forum and it does tend to be the same old faces, other than the honourable addition of Martin recently. I must admit I'm feeling less inclined to post and I probably wouldn't have bothered this month if it hadn't been Jill's month, who I have a lot of respect for and from whom I've learnt so much. That's what posting tunes is all about which is why it is so disappointing that few people take the plunge :(

Cheers for the kind words folks!
Cracking version there James!
I've always loved this tune and like the fact that it's not too daunting for learners while also being a little more "off the beaten path", plus the name of it is great!

Great playing Jill and James, I might just be watching this month.

Finally my version of this tune of the month. I found Jill's and James' posts very inspiring and tried to come up with my own variety. Luckily my wife Micha and our friend Flo joined me the get the recording done. This is my new tenor banjo that Mark Hickler built for me.

And here is a short recording of the Floating Crowbar Reel played on clawhammer banjo with some guitar backing.
