I was making sound clips for two banjos I'm thinking about selling (an Ode Model C and a Crafters of Tennessee Classic) and I thought I would post a sound comparison between my Bishline Cimarron "Woody" and my Bishline Heirloom with tone ring.

Every so often a clip on this site opens and looks like all the others I try, but won't play. That's what happened with yours--niether will play, even tho I watched a couple others just today. Puzzling. I am suspicious that Flash player is the culprit, but am not sure. I have Win 10 so Flash player is not enabled.

James, there may be something else going on.. I just played both with no issue on my iPad (no flash installed as Apple won't support flash on Pads).
Unless something has changed since your post.. it may be on your end.

Jeff, Rob certainly has a great handle on both the tone ring and woody builds. Sounded great.

Have the same problem with MP3's on BHO, will not play. Says plug ins locked but they are allowed??

Both played. Running Chrome on Linux.
Very interesting. The "Woody" sounded more metalic to me; the Heirloom more woody. The Heirloom sounds cleaner to me, but it's a close contest. Both sound good.

Funny, I noticed the same. Nice clips. I liked the Heirloom best. I assume Woody means an all-wood tone ring.

Thanks Janet. The "woody" has a mahogany neck and resonator with a 3-ply maple rim and maple tone ring that are glued together. The Heirloom has a maple neck and resonator with a 3-ply maple rim and a traditional metal tone ring. I currently have the woody set up to sound as close to the Heirloom as possible. I can get a much warmer tone out of the woody by adjusting the tailpiece and head tension. Thanks everyone for the comments.

Great tone from both, up and down the neck. I have to admit, I never thought a wood ring could sound as loud and bright as that !

No sound here either... soooo.....Anytime that happens, in the 'audio player window'... I 'right click' on 'download the mp3'....then left-click 'open in new window' ...open that window and it will play right away. Don't know why, but it does.
