This week's tune isn't old enough to be a "standard," but it's a beautiful one and our first TOTW from the great Del McCoury Band. "Sweet Appalachia" was released on their 2009 Family Circle album and features some really fine picking from Rob McCoury.

Nice sounding banjo lick from Rob and is he ever solid... Del is the best there is...Jack  p.s. Del and his two really young (then in their early teens) sons played just like they do right now. My Brothers hired Del to come to Marylea Farm, my Paren'ts farm, and play for my Wedding many years ago. I think I may have even gotten up the nerve to play a tune with them on the banjo...Del is the last of a kind of Country Gentlemen...
