I have no financial interest in this fine luthier's work (although I will admit that I have a deposit down for one of his final custom banjos!). Greg Galbreath of Buckeye Banjo has been impressing me with his craft since I first stumbled on his website many moons ago. Anyhoo, the stuff he's been doing of late is just off the charts custom inlay and the work is stunning. Had to share these pics he just posted to Facebook...WOW!

That's just gorgeous. Great luthier, and he actually keeps up with posting pictures on his website!

It's always good to see his work. It's getting better and better and I'm glad to be on his order list too. Next year should see it. Keep practising Greg!

I love mine.  The peghead on my avatar is my Fielding.

Greg and I worked on that design for quit some time, many emails and phone calls. It was a pleasure all the way! The only thing that's a bummer in shipping, but, We all know about that! It's gonna be a long week.

Congrats Jeff - I really love the peghead but the aesthetic of the whole banjo just sings to me. Is there anything special about the source for the peghead design or just something you thought was cool? This wait is the fun part!

Well, I have a Fielding with brass position markers Hart, Diamond, club and Spade. So, one more with the card theme. I searched E-Bay antique playing cards and found this Queen What struck me was the loveliness (that must be a word!) of the Queen. then with lots of sketches, we came up with the 5 card hand to round the top and bottom of the inlay. I knew Greg could do the inlay, Could He etch that "loveliness"? He had no hesitation! Well, I can't seem to add the card to the post, I'll figure it out. until then.

Jeff - I gotta say that I think Greg's version is much more beautiful and soulful (am I only saying that cause its on a banjo headstock?). Hope you'll post a report when you get this beauty in your hands!
