This week's tune comes from the great Terry Baucom, aka "The Duke of Drive."
This tune is not to be confused with "When I'm Knee Deep In Bluegrass" which I believe was written by Pete Goble (Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver play it as well) and has lyrics.
"Knee Deep in Bluegrass" is an instrumental played in the key of B, in AABA format.
For those who may not know, Terry's wife Cindy has an award-winning bluegrass radio show called "Knee Deep in Bluegrass" that has been going since 2003. This is the opening theme song for it. You can listen into this show on local radio stations as well as online stations like the WWB. Cindy is also very involved in the IBMA--these two are really the "power couple" of bluegrass music.
I (and others) would love to hear (and see!) you play your version of this tune--post it in a reply below!
